2nd LD-Writethru: China's real estate investments surge 24 percent
BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Investment in China's real estate
sector rose 24 percent in July on the same month last year, reaching
941.1 billion yuan (117.6 billion US dollars), the National Bureau of
Statistics (NBS) said Thursday.
Investment growth is marginally down from the 24.2 percent
recorded in the first six months.
The figure emerged following a slight drop in China's investment
in urban fixed assets, which rose to 4,477.1 billion yuan in the
first seven months of the year, up 30.5 percent on the same period
last year, but 0.8 percentage points lower than the January-June
