World junior athletes to compete in worlds in Beijing

BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Athletics World Junior Championships is to start Tuesday in Beijing with athletes from a record of 182 nations and regions participating.

As the largest sporting event held in Beijing before the 2008 Olympic Games, the 11th edition of the World Athletics Series event draws a participation of 1,451 athletes aged of 16-19 years old, while a total of 2,284 athletes, coaches and officials from 182 countries and regions enrolled in this competition.
