Israeli justice minister to resign on Sunday

JERUSALEM, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Justice Minister Haim Ramon said on Friday that he intended to resign from his post on Sunday, following charges against him of committing sexual harassment, local newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

Israeli Attorney General Menachem Mazuz informed Ramon on Thursday that the justice minister would stand trial on charges of committing an indecent act without consent.

Ramon is suspected of having used force to kiss a female soldier on the day she celebrated her last day of work as a clerk in a government office.
