Hamas to lead future coalition government: spokesman

GAZA, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Saturday that Hamas would lead any coming national coalition government.

"All the issue of commissioning portfolios would be subject to dialogue and negotiations, but Hamas would lead the government because of its majority in the parliament," Sami Abu Zuhri told reporters.

The aim of forming a national unity government was to "boost the Palestinian's unity to face external challenges and break the siege on the Palestinian people," he said.
