EU's attitude towards Palestinian coalition government welcomed: Erekat

RAMALLAH, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat Saturday welcomed the European Union's (EU) attitude towards the new Palestinian coalition government of national unity.

"We praise the European position that supports the Palestinian cause and peace process," Erekat told local radio Voice of Palestine.

He said that the EU diplomats expressed their satisfaction for the coalition government deal between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the governing Hamas as they met him in Brussels on Friday.
