AMMAN, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Intermittent heavy rains and snowfall in recent days paralyzed the traffic in southern Jordan with hundreds of people being stranded and many roads being closed, local media reported on Thursday.

Witnesses said the police was directing vehicles to an alternative road "which was not in a better condition."
