'South Beach" makes me want to lift weights more, maybe get some
liposuction, a physical trainer, a 600-calorie diet and a Wayback
Machine that makes me young and stupid again.
The nighttime soap opera is a hardbody day at the beach in Miami,
set in what is billed as the coolest boutique hotel around. Models
lounge around, convincing each other how important it is to go
topless for a photo shoot.
"This is how you get to the top," one model says to a bashful
trainee. "You can only sleep your way to the middle. ... Nudity pays
time and a half."
"South Beach" (7 p.m. Wednesdays on WPWR-Channel 50) isn't the
terrible waste of viewing time a cynic might expect. But it is a
