Boeing, Kenya Airways sign deal for 3 extra Dreamliners

NAIROBI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's national carrier Kenya Airways has signed an order agreement for three additional 787 Dreamliners bringing the total number of orders of the same model to nine, airline officials said on Monday.

The airline said in a statement that the new models, scheduled for commercial release in 2010 and 2012, are aimed at replacing the current 767s as the rapidly growing airline expands its route coverage across the world.

"We have had remarkable success with Boeing's 777," said Titus Naikuni, the airline's managing director and chief executive officer.
