Indonesia uncertain about metal objects detected in Makassar strait

JAKARTA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government cannot yet confirm that metal objects detected by a naval vessel on Monday are parts of the Adam Air jetliner that went missing in bad weather last week en route from Java to Manado in North Sulawesi with 102 people on board, a cabinet minister said.

"No sign of the Adam Air plane has so far been found although the naval vessel KRI Fatahillah detected metal objects in Makassar Strait waters yesterday," Antara news agency quoted Transportation Minister Hatta Rajasa as saying here on Tuesday.
