N.Tanzania warned against raw milk for Rift Valley Fever virus

DAR ES SALAAM, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Health experts have warned against drinking raw milk in northern Tanzania that borders Kenya where the Rift Valley Fever has been affecting some of its regions, local media reported Saturday.

Human consumption of untreated milk is feared to be another medium through which the fever could be transmitted from animals to human beings.

Though no case of the fever has been reported in the country, Tanzania, especially the northern part bordering Kenya, has tightened border controls against the spread of the disease.
