Conjoined twins born in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A pair of female conjoined twins who are joined at their chest and abdomen were born Sunday at a hospital in central Bangladesh, The Daily Star reported Monday.

The twins, weighing 5 kilograms, have separate heads, four legs and four hands, but a single anus and genital with a liver and two kidneys. Yet they have 8 chambers in their heart and that is why the doctors are considering them as two babies though their internal blood circulation is not separated.

Bilkis Begum, 30, gave birth to the conjoined twins on Sunday at Jobaida Memorial Hospital in Gazipur, about 30 km north of the capital Dhaka.
