UN envoy urges Ivorian government, rebels to implement new peace deal

ABIDJAN, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Abou Moussa, acting chief of the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI), on Thursday urged the Ivorian government and the rebels to immediately implement their new peace deal in order to revive the country's ailing peace process.

Speaking at the weekly news briefing in the Ivorian economic capital of Abidjan, Moussa said that it is an encouraging sign that the new peace accord was well received by various political factions in Cote d'Ivoire and the international community.
