Ugandan president defends land giveaway to investors

KAMPALA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has defended his policy of land giveaway for investment, saying the government would not hesitate to give more redundant land around Kampala to those who are interested in developing it.

Laying the foundation stone for the Royal Palms Estate project, a total of 1,400 modern housing units and apartments to be built on part of the land formerly belonging to Butabika Hospital near Kampala, Museveni reassured the developers their investment were safe.
