Nigerian gov't approves plan for financing infrastructure in Niger Delta

LAGOS, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government has approved the release of 489.1 million naira (about 3.79 million U. S. dollars) from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) for the provision of infrastructure in the Niger Delta, local newspaper The Punch reported on Thursday.

Frank Nweke, Nigeria's minister of information and communications, was quoted as saying that the decision was in line with the federal government's ongoing search for solutions to the Niger Delta crisis.
