Kenya Airways to compensate families of crash victims

NAIROBI, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's national airline, Kenya Airways, announced here Tuesday it has started compensating the families of passengers killed in a plane crash in Cameroon last week.

In a statement, the airline said the initial payment was intended to help ease some of the financial burden faced by the families.

"Kenya Airways have started processing interim part payments to the next of kin, on account of any payments that may ultimately be made in regard to the incident," the statement said.

"This is intended to help ease some of the initial financial pressure that the families might be facing," it added.
