Blackout disturbs business in Indonesian province
JAKARTA, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Rotating blackouts have severely
affected hundreds of businesses throughout Indonesia's North Sumatra
province, with some heading toward bankruptcy, local press said
Wednesday.
The Employers Association in North Sumatra said production at many
companies has continued to decline since the blackouts began on June
13. The power cuts are set to last until August 13, reported English
daily The Jakarta Post.
With a production decline of 50 percent at some companies, several
companies have been forced to send their employees home.
