New Yorkers urged to lead "greener" lives

NEW YORK, June 25 (Xinhua) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg unveiled a new ad campaign Monday, urging New Yorkers to lead a "greener" life.

Many government and private institutions are already on board with Bloomberg's "PlaNYC," which calls for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030. Now the city says each person can contribute.

In a new media blitz, the city talks about 10 simple things you can do for the environment, like paying your bills online, taking public transportation, unplugging appliances that aren't being used and bringing your own cloth bag to the grocery store.
