Singapore tightens monetary policy for gradual appreciation of Singapore dollar

SINGAPORE, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's central bank said Wednesday it will maintain the policy of "a modest and gradual appreciation" of the Singapore dollar.

The slope of the Singapore dollar policy band will be increasedslightly, but there will be no recentring of the policy band, or any change in its width, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)said in its biannual monetary policy statement.
