Nigeria loses 58 bln dollars to Niger Delta crisis: lawmaker

LAGOS, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria lost 58.3 billion U.S. dollars in accruable oil revenue in the past nine years owing to the violence in the Niger Delta, said a Nigerian senator in chargeof the Niger Delta Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee here onTuesday.

Senator David Brigidi, the Chairman of the Niger Delta Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee, disclosed the figure in a keynote address delivered here at a workshop organized by NigerianAssociation of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE).
