Nepali speaker hopeful of party compromise

KATHMANDU, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Speaker of Nepali Interim Parliament Subash Nemwang expressed optimism that a negotiated settlement could be reached regarding demands of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M), local leading media group's website Nepalnews reported Friday.

Nemwang told reporters Friday he was hopeful of a compromise after meeting with CPN-M chairman Prachanda at the latter's residence in Nayabazar in Kathmandu on Friday morning.
