New mortgage loans dip 7.2 pct in HK

HONG KONG, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's new mortgage loans drawn down in September fell 7.2 percent to 15 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 1.94 billion U.S. dollars), Hong Kong Monetary Authority said here Friday.

According to the figure released by the authority, a monthly survey of 23 authorized institutions found new loans approved dropped 21.9 percent to 15.1 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 1.95billion U.S. dollars) and the number of new applications fell 25.4percent.
