U.S. Defense, State departments agree on more control over private security contractors in Iraq

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Defense and State departments have reached an agreement that American military command in Baghdad should have more authority to monitor private security contractors working for the U.S. government in Iraq, defense officials said on Tuesday.

It should be made more clear on rules for the use of force and coordination of the movement of the contractors protecting personnel of both the State Department and the Pentagon in Iraq, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell told reporters.
