Kenya Airways suspends flights to Mali

NAIROBI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's national carrier has suspended flights by a week to Bamako, Mali, with effect from Friday to allow the repair of the country's airport, airline officials said here Thursday.

Kenya Airways' Head of Corporate Communications Michael Okwiri said in a statement issued in Nairobi that the flights will however resume on Nov. 9 after the runaway of Senou International Airport is repaired.

"This is due to repair work currently being undertaken on the runway which has necessitated the closure of the airport to all airlines," said Okwiri.

Kenya Airways currently operates four weekly flights to the Malian capital on Tuesdays, ...
