National team archers bend knees to jackaroo at City Games
WUHAN, Central China, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- It's a place of waterloo
for national team archers at the Chinese City Games, but in contrast
it's the cradle for youngsters to grow up.
The Games archery tournament concluded on Thursday with six titles
available. The men's and women's individual and team, and the top
finishers in preliminaries are also awarded medals as a way to
encourage U-19 marksmen.
Beijing Shunyi's Xing Yu, 16, led the preliminaries and then won
the crown of the men's individual. He scored a total of 343 points
out of 36 arrows in last three rounds of elimination, improving the
national record by 5 points.
