Side effects of medications can at times be initially
misdiagnosed as another condition.
A family of medications known as angiotensin-converting enzyme
inhibitors is one such medication with its most common side effect.
Examples of A.C.E. inhibitors include benazepril, Lotensin,
captopril, Capoten, enalapril, Vasotec, fosinopril, Monopril,
lisinopril, Prinivil, Zestril, perindopril, Aceon, quinapril,
Accupril, ramipril, Altace, trandolapril and Mavik.
Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors block an enzyme needed
to form a substance that narrows blood vessels. As a result, blood
vessels relax and widen, making it easier for blood to flow through
the vessels, which reduces blood pressure. ...
