INTELLIGENCE chiefs today sought to nail for good claims MI6 was
involved in Princess Diana's death.
They hope the unlawful killing verdict, blamed on gross
negligence by driver Henri Paul and pursuing paparazzi, will end
allegations she and Dodi Fayed were victims of a British
establishment plot.
MI6 regard murder claims as damaging.
An intelligence/security source told the Evening Standard the
inquest had been a significant distraction. Six intelligence
officers were diverted from their usual jobs. They now want to get
on with counter-terrorism and other matters.
