Article: Cops ID victim of shooting near mall

SAN LEANDRO -- More questions than answers have emerged from the investigation of a brazen shooting Monday outside a neighborhood strip mall that left a San Leandro man dead.

San Leandro police on Tuesday identified the victim as Ernest Ray Sauceda, a 25-year-old unemployed construction worker who recently moved from Fremont. His killer remains at large.

Sauceda was shot to death at about 11:30 a.m. at the entrance to the San Leandro Plaza Shopping Center at East 14th Street and Estudillo Avenue.
