Lancaster adds a big bat to the middle of its lineup by signing
former big-leaguer Matt LeCroy, who will bat cleanup. Gonzalez gone
The Lancaster Barnstormers spent all of last summer futilely
searching for a cleanup hitter.
The search officially ended today.
The team has signed slugger Matt LeCroy, a veteran of eight big-
league seasons.
With one bold move, the Barnstormers finally added the power they
were missing when they went from Atlantic League champ in 2006 to
also-ran in 2007.
LeCroy, who can play first base and catcher, has a lifetime
slugging percentage of .505 in the minors.
"We're very excited to have him in the middle of our lineup,"
