A Devastated wife is urging people to give blood after losing her husband to cancer.

Mark Harrison (38), of Lord Street, Grimsby, died on April 6 after a two-year battle with chronic myeloid leukaemia.

Throughout his illness, he received hundreds of blood transfusions from donors.

His wife Sarah (36) is urging people to give blood to help people like Mark.

She said: "Donating blood is such a simple thing and will only take one hour out of someone's time.

"I have given blood myself and it is the most wonderful feeling. You leave thinking about how you have helped someone.

"Mark had so many blood transfusions, and just one would often have come from as many as four people.
