Architecture students at Virginia Tech are building a unique
home for their senior thesis credit, but the real reward, the
students say, comes in the form of changing ideas about housing and
providing a home for a family in need through Habitat for Humanity
of the New River Valley.
Architecture seniors Daniel Gussman and Brandon Lingenfelser have
made their thesis project interactive by not only designing a home
but also by actually building it with the help of their advisers Joe
Wheeler, assistant professor of architecture, and Robert Dunay,
professor of architecture and chairman of industrial design, as well
as dozens of sophomores and juniors in the architecture program.
