Article: Fire marshall investigation to stay secret

CHEYENNE - Gov. Dave Freudenthal's office is refusing to turn over a report of its 2006 investigation into the Department of Fire Protection and Electrical Safety, citing privacy concerns.

Freudenthal called for the investigation in response to numerous complaints from constituents about the department and how it was operating.

Shortly after the investigation, State Fire Marshall Jim Narva fired the agency's top two managers: electrical program manager Keith Reynolds and deputy state fire marshal Terry Phillips.

Two months later, Narva resigned.
