Register Staff WEST HAVEN -- Residents, city officials and state legislators are welcoming the news that the much-anticipated train station project is moving full speed ahead.

Dozens of people gathered at the Savin Rock Conference Center Thursday evening for an informational meeting on train station progress with the state Department of Transportation. The meeting was called by state Sen. Gayle Slossberg, D-Milford, whose district includes West Haven and Orange.

"It's a very exciting project," Slossberg said after the meeting.

Calling the project an "investment in West Haven like we've never seen before," Slossberg said the train station will boost economic development and revitalization in ...
