If You've ever wondered about how the fishy on your dishy gets
there, the renowned Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby could supply
the answers.
All the sights, sounds and smells of life as a Grimsby fisherman
are on display, including a trip over a moving trawler deck.
WHY GO?
The centre vividly recreates Grimsby's maritime heyday during the
1950s, when it was the biggest fishing port in the world.
Starting with the fishing smacks trawling the North Sea in the
1850s, visitors can follow the industry's growth over the next 100
years.
A journey through recreations of the old streets takes you down
to the docks, where 500 trawlers used to bring in their hauls.
