Boston Marathon: 1st in 2003 (2:10:11), 2006 (2:07:14) and 2007
(2:14:13); 5th in 2005 (2:14:30).
Of note: Cheruiyot is attempting to become the fourth man to win
the race four or more times. He set a course record in 2006 before
taking the Chicago Marathon later that year (2:07:35). He has an
unusual build for a runner (6 feet 2 inches, 143 lbs) but knows when
to take the lead and said he thrives on tough competition.
