Nine years ago, a truck slammed into Stephen King. One of his
legs was shattered, a lung collapsed, several of his ribs were
broken and his hip was fractured. Not long after, he developed
pneumonia.
Having had enough of the spine-chilling, the master of spine-
tingling headed for warmer shores. King, 60, and his wife of 37
years, Tabitha, flew south for the winter to the Florida Coast. Duma
Key, his first novel set in Florida, inevitably followed.
