Geneva's trustee rebuffed an overseas offer that suggested
debenture-holders could get 90c in the dollar. Rob Stock reports. -
------------------- -------------------- AN OFFER to buy the loan
book of the troubled finance company Geneva, which would immediately
release capital to debenture-holders, has been kept secret from
investors and will not be put to the vote.
A formal approach was made around 10 days ago by a credible
overseas finance company, the Sunday Star-Times understands, and
offered an alternative to Geneva's proposed restructuring plan, or
appointing receivers.
The overseas firm, backed by an international funding partner,
offered to table an "indicative offer" by April ...
