South Africa beats record of commercial rights of World Cup

LUSAKA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- South Africa has already beaten the record of 2.8 billion U.S. dollars contributed in commercial rights to FIFA by Germany during the last World Cup, according to Sunday Post.

Speaking in an interview Saturday in Livingstone, the capital of Southern province of Zambia, FIFA 2010 South Africa World Cup chief executive Danny Jordaan said that South Africa has so far contributed 3.1 billion worth in commercial rights to FIFA, the Zambian newspaper reported.
