Theatre legends Sir Jonathan Miller and Sir Peter Hall are
heading West this month to direct plays in Bristol and Bath. They
probably won't be talking to each other though, as Tony Staveacre
reports
Sir Jonathan Miller is in Bristol, directing Hamlet. Sir Peter
Hall is in Bath, directing Pygmalion. Both these theatrical legends
are now at an age when we might expect them to be settling for the
pipe and slippers, but far from it, they are still going great guns.
Sir Peter (born 1931) has just opened a brand new theatre - the
Rose in Kingston- upon-Thames. Sir Jonathan (born 1934) has recently
added metal sculpture to a lengthy CV that also encompasses
medicine, opera, philosophy, history, ...
