Being eco-friendly is trendy, and the bandwagon has sprung to life in the past month with Earth Day coming up Tuesday.

From free, energy-efficient light bulbs to coupons for organic food, stores and advocacy groups aren't letting consumers forget that it's time to think about saving the environment.

But does environmental awareness stick beyond Earth Day? Or once Tuesday is past, will it disappear as quickly as the Amazon rain forest?
