Washington's Legg Mason Tennis Classic, which celebrates its 40th
anniversary this summer, has received commitments from Americans
Mardy Fish and John Isner. They'll join a field led by the country's
top-ranked player, Andy Roddick, who announced earlier this year
that he'll skip the 2008 Beijing Olympics in order to defend his
title in Washington's hard-court tournament and fine-tune his game
for the U.S. Open.
Just two months removed from a stellar college career at Georgia,
the hard-serving Isner became a fan favorite last summer as he
steamrolled into the Legg Mason final behind a barrage of aces.
Ranked a lowly 417th at the time, the 6-foot-9 Isner received a wild-
