I WHOLEHEARTEDLY salute Robert Cheruiyot for his historic victory
in the Boston Marathon. I deeply appreciate the Globe's editorial
decision to honor his victory in the context of the political
turmoil of Kenya.
As a woman who rushed to the race course with a group of other
mothers and daughters to see the first women run by, however, I was
deeply disappointed that the Globe's coverage of the marathon all
but neglected the impressive participation of thousands of women.
