Joseph Eunkwan Choi has resigned as assistant conductor for the
Evansville Philharmonic and conductor for the Philharmonic Chorus
after three years in the post.
The South Korean-born musician will leave the job May 31, but
he'll remain in the Tri-State, living in Newburgh with his wife and
son and continuing as music director for Eastminster Presbyterian
Church in Evansville and assistant conductor for the Owensboro, Ky.,
Symphony Orchestra and director for the Owensboro Symphony Youth
Orchestras.
Choi said he also intends to pursue freelance guest conducting,
using Newburgh as his base.
