BCSB sees profitable quarter

BCSB Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Baltimore County Savings Bank, reported net income for its fiscal second quarter, ended March 31, of $55,000, or 2 cents per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $2.98 million, or 97 cents per diluted share, for the corresponding period in 2007. Bank officials said although this was essentially a breakeven quarter, it was significantly better than the prior year, when results were affected by a balance sheet restructuring completed in March 2007. It also represented the second straight profitable quarter for the company, which last occurred in fiscal 2005.
