Streetcar art project to debut at Hilton New Orleans Riverside

The Young Leadership Council will place the first designed
streetcar from its "A Streetcar Named Inspire" public art project at
the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, 2 Poydras St., on May 8.
The streetcar can be viewed anytime after May 8 in the Hilton's
lobby.
Since beginning in November, the program has paired local artists
with sponsoring companies to design and customize 6-by-2-foot
streetcar models to communicate what inspires them about New
Orleans. The streetcars are to be placed around the city, with the
Hilton being the first site, before being auctioned in early 2009.
