If this statement ("Oh my God, I was rolling on the floor
laughing") brings a sense of bewilderment, it may be time to update
your emoticon vocabulary. Emoticons are commonly associated with the
communication that takes place between younger generations through
text messages, e-mails and social networking postings.
This newer form of lingo includes so many different abbreviations
that an entire conversation can be held without a complete word. As
a result, it has widened the language barrier between some parents
and their children.
