OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - The Portrait
Gallery of Canada, a program of Library and Archives Canada, is
launching its first national biennial Commissioning Program and
we're inviting all Canadians to help us choose subjects for three
portraits this year!
Canadians from coast to coast are invited to submit the names of
living individuals who have made a significant contribution to their
community or our country. A selection committee of prominent
Canadians and curatorial experts, including Lise Bissonnette,
President and CEO of Bibliotheque et Archives nationales du Quebec,
historian Charlotte Gray, Nobel-Prize-winning chemist, Dr. John
