This is why White Sox fans should spend the rest of the regular
season rooting for the New York Yankees. You simply don't want that
team blocking your path to the American League wild card.
With their stunning five-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox, the
Yankees turned an AL East race from a 1oe-game edge as uncomfortable
as a bleacher seat to a 6oe-game cushion that feels like a booster
seat. For the division title to go anywhere other than the Bronx will
now take a complete collapse by the most feared team in baseball.
And this is good news for the White Sox.
