Campaigners have won an important ally in their bid to turn one
of the East Riding's architectural gems into a community building.
Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has thrown his weight
behind the campaign to save Beverley's historic Norwood House for
future generations.
His pledge of support comes ahead of a crucial East Riding
Council meeting this month to discuss a move to sell the derelict
Georgian property in Norwood on the open market.
The trustees of one of Beverley's most important listed
buildings, and the town council, have asked East Riding Council to
delay its decision to allow them more time to raise funds to
renovate the imposing house for the community.
