The people of North East Lincolnshire who paid their respects to
Trooper Robert Pearson have been thanked by his parents.
There were hundreds of people lining the streets of the route the
funeral cortege took to and from St Mary's Church, Heneage Road,
Grimsby, as reported.
Many relatives, friends and fellow servicemen attended the
service led by Father James Earley.
The 22-year-old Queen's Royal Lancer was killed driving a Viking
Warrior personnel carrier, which is believed to have been struck by
a landmine close to Camp Bastion, in Afghanistan's Helmand province.
In a letter to the Grimsby Telegraph, Paul and Gillian Pearson,
