My carbon footprint is rather large. Actually, after three long-
haul flights and a few shorter ones in the space of just 10 months,
it is enormous.
So to appease my guilty conscience I have, for the past month,
been freeing up scarce landfill space by composting.
A self-contained bin, courtesy of Exeter City Council, is now the
feature of my back garden and home to all of our biodegradable
rubbish, a few fruit flies and a handful of friendly earthworms.
When I initially ordered the bin I did not know what to expect.
I was somewhat dreading have to put it together like a piece of IKEA
furniture, and then being forced to trudge through hordes of
completely indecipherable literature ...
